OVERVIEW
Crown Music Studios is a music store open in QLD’s town of Charters Towers. The owners leased an iconic building in the centre of town built in the 1920s that has a rich history within the community and used to be the Crown Hotel. They wanted a brand that was remnant of the 20s jazz era, a passion of theirs.
SOLUTION
I created a brand that has a subtle historical emphasis with a fresh modern touch. The crown is composed of various musical symbols (marcato, quaver stems, repeat barlines and dots). This iconmark is paired with a refined serif typeface and clean sans-serif to support.
The crown has also been disassembled and repurposed into a tessellating pattern to give the brand a further unique footprint and is also supported by a simple yet striking colour palette.
